Ranveer Singh's Nude Photoshoot Sparks Memefest and Police Complaint

Ranveer Singh made the internet go crazy with his nude photoshoot for a magazine, and netizens were obsessed with him. However, the photoshoot did not go down well with everyone. It sparked a meme frenzy on social media and has now landed the actor in hot water after a case was filed against him. According to a report,  an application was filed with Mumbai Police on Monday seeking the registration of a First Information Report (FIR) against Ranveer for "hurting women's sentiments" through his nude photographs on social media.

According to India Today, the actor has been charged with 'hurting women's sentiments.' The complaint was filed with the Mumbai Police. More information about the complaint is still unknown. Ranveer bared it all in the photoshoot to honour Burt Reynolds. He took part in a similar photo shoot for a magazine, the photos were uploaded on the star's Twitter and Instagram handle. 

An officer of a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) based in the east Mumbai suburb of Chembur reportedly filed the complaint at Mumbai's Chembur police station. According to an official, the complainant claimed that the actor had hurt women's sentiment and insulted their modesty through his photographs. The complainant requested that the actor be charged under the Information Technology Act and various sections of the Indian Penal Code.

The details of the complaint are unknown as of this moment and according to PTI an official from the police station stated that they have not registered an FIR against the actor following the complaint. 

While some Bollywood actors and netizens criticised the latest photoshoot, others, including Alia Bhatt, Swara Bhasker, Rakhi Sawant, and Arjun Kapoor, supported Ranveer and his choices. On the work front, Ranveer is currently filming 'Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani' with Alia.
