Aizawl September 26, 2023: In a momentous achievement for the state of Mizoram, Pu Joseph Vanlalhruaia Sailo, NSS Programme Officer at Synod Higher Secondary School, Aizawl, has been selected as one of the distinguished recipients of the National Award for NSS Programme Officer. The award ceremony is scheduled to take place on September 29, 2023, at Darbar Hall, Rashtrapati Bhawan, New Delhi, with the honourable President of India presiding. Pu Joseph's recognition is a historic milestone, marking him as the first Higher Secondary School Lecturer in Mizoram to be honoured with this prestigious award. The accolade includes a Cash Award, a Citation, and a Silver Medal, symbolizing his outstanding contribution to the National Service Scheme. The National Award for NSS Programme Officer is an esteemed recognition, distributed to only ten individuals annually. This year, Pu Joseph Vanlalhruaia Sailo joins the ranks of a select group of outstanding individuals who have made significant contributions to the NSS program. Notably, this award extends beyond individual recognition. Alongside the National Award, the college/school with the Program Officer is simultaneously honoured as the "Best Unit," further highlighting the collective efforts of the institution. Consequently, the Synod Higher Secondary School NSS Unit is set to receive a prestigious Trophy and a significant cash reward of Rs. 200,000.
