Google Maps' remarkable Street View feature now extends its immersive reach across most of India, granting users the ability to take a 360-degree glimpse of their cherished schools and villages. This digital journey recommenced in India last year, initially unveiling select locations. However, the month of June brought about a significant expansion, embracing the northeastern realms of Assam, Meghalaya, Tripura, and Mizoram.

The Mizos has noticed the recent addition of Street View's presence in many parts of Northeast India, breathing life into the serene landscapes of the northeastern parts. Despite its widespread coverage, Street View retains a veil of mystery over some locations, most likely due to time constraitn and security considerations. For Mizoram, this captivating tool unfurls along the winding national highways but leaves the bustling heart of Aizawl, the picturesque towns of Champhai, Lawngtlai, and the charming village of Thenzawl, partially concealed from view. For now, Street View focuses exclusively on public spaces, preventing virtual tours of schools and private properties. Nevertheless, it serves as an invaluable means to reminisce about the past or embark on a digital exploration of the captivating Aizawl and Mizoram. The catch is that the coverage was established in June, leaving most areas in a gloomy cloudy and dark undertone.

To embark on this captivating journey, you can enable Street View within the Google Maps app on your Android or iOS device. Simply search for a location, tap the "Street View" option, and you'll see inviting blue lines on the map, indicating areas available for exploration. By selecting a spot, you can navigate through the location as if you were physically present. While zooming in is possible, be prepared for some pixelation. To provide context, the capture date is thoughtfully displayed at the bottom of the screen.

It's a delightful tool for revisiting fond memories and embarking on a virtual exploration, with the exception of some areas in Mizoram, which may appear shrouded in the gentle embrace of clouds.
