Aizawl : Mizoram has 29,253 Myanmar refugees as of August 20, 2022, according to Home Minister Lalchamlianan's written response to VL Zaithanzama's question in today's Assembly session.
The refugee counting work is nearly complete, but it will be continued because the numbers fluctuate because many more people entered and left the state during the same time period.
According to figures submitted to the Home Department by Deputy Commissioners as of 20.8.2022, a total of 30,401 refugees have been registered and 30,177 Refugee ID cards have been issued..
The Home Minister's answer indicated that the state's Disaster Management & Rehabilitation ( DM&R) has disbursed Rs 3,00,00,00 towards rehabilitation and assistance of Myanmar Refugees in the state.
