An IAS couple assigned to the Delhi government has been transferred by the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) for allegedly abusing the amenities at the Thyagraj Stadium in south Delhi.
The stadium was empty every night at 7 p.m. for the Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officers Sanjeev Khirwar and Rinku Dugga to walk their dog, according to the Indian Express. As a result, the athletes were forced to complete their training early the report suggested.
'We used to train till 8-8.30 PM under lights earlier,' one instructor told the publication. However, they were requested to leave by 7 p.m. so that the officer may walk his dog on the ground. "Our training and practise routine has been disrupted," a coach told the publication.
The Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT), which controls the transfer and posting of officers from the Arunachal Pradesh, Goa, Mizoram, and Union Territories (AGMUT) cadre, has written to the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) to take immediate action. The pair is a member of the AGMUT cadre from the 1994 batch.
