Dr K Beichhua, a charismatic MLA from Mizoram became an internet sensation when news of him performing an emergency operation on a woman in a staffless government health facility won the hearts of netizens across India back in 2017. The celebrated doctor is back at it again, this time helping a group of policemen whose bus met an accident in the middle of nowhere in Mizoram.
Here is what happened. Several policemen of the 2nd Mizoram Armed Police (MAP) were injured when the bus they were travelling met an accident between Vai-awt - Buarchep near Vairengte in Kolasib district on the morning of 13 October 2021. The bus was carrying 22 people and although their injuries were not serious many were in need of medical first aid. The problem was that the place where the incident happened was in the middle of nowhere, the bus was damaged in the engine, under this condition there was no hope of ferrying the injured to the nearest medical facility.
Luckily, MLA and now a State Minister of Mizoram Dr K Beichhua's Car along with a small convoy turned up at the spot. DR K Beichhua was on his way to Lungsen as part of his ongoing tour around Mizoram. He immediately went into action and became the super MLA doctor once again, giving medical assistance to the injured with the limited resources he was carrying. As of this writing, a team of medical experts from Sialsuk are on their way to the site of the incident. Hopefully, they would give the hard-working doctor some respite. Words of appreciation and admiration for Dr K Beichua and prayers for the policemen are pouring in from Netizens across Mizoram as the news is being spread across Mizo social media. Fortunately, no death has been reported.
